My dog deserves better

I am embarrassed. Very embarrassed. I went out walking today. Not even jogging. Just walking. I haven't exercised in a year. I used to exercise all the time, but life got in the way. Stress, long work hours, driving constantly, all the normal excuses. So, I thought I would go back to exercising since I'm a domestic now and have time. Well, that and I thought since I'm pregnant it's a good idea. Really, I should have done it when I was stressed and working long hours. I probably needed it even more. But, still.

Anyway, I went out today and did a brisk walk over the rolling hills of the country for about 40 minutes. I'm embarrassed to say at some of the steeper hills I got winded. I had to slow down! And I wasn't even running! What is happening to me? Is it turning 30 that made me go so out of shape? Is it the pregnancy? (I love using that as an excuse.) I couldn't believe that in one year of no exercise I could have gone that downhill. I was embarrassed. The dog was looking at me like "wimp. I would have to walk with HER". I could tell the cows I passed snickered as I went by. Oh, it may have looked like they were just chewing their cud. But I know, they were snickering. I could see it in their eyes. And the ducks in the pond had that condescending "quack".

I'm never going to sacrifice exercise again. It's very important for physical health as well as mindset!

Question: What thing do you wish you never gave up?

At some point, I gave up on writing every day, without fail, and became much lazier about my writing.

I never gave up sex, but I sure haven't been very good at getting it lately. *sigh*

Keep up that exercise, girl. It is going to do wonders for you when it gets to the birthing the baby part, trust me.

It's hard to answer your question as I have given up a whole heap of things that weren't necessarily good for me. Though I'm glad I gave them up, there's that small part of me that sometimes longs for them.

Hey! This isn't the AA meeting! Where the hell am I?

I have to agree with you on the exercise thing... at this point I would probably be winded too.

Hmmm, let me think, working for a living? Nah, I'm enjoying my time off.

Sometimes, I regret giving up a particular man who had great hair, a great body, money and property and was great in bed too. But only when I'm pissed at hubby. :)

Enjoy this time, and pretty soon you'll be walking the dog and not the other way around.

Sometimes I long to revisit my burning down public buildings phase but that's why I had kids, they're doing it for me now. ;)

I regret not working out too. I was in great shape for a while.

I also regret that I stopped playing the flute. Now I don't even remember how to read music. :(

You should be in twice as good shape if you're pregnant. You are hiking for two.
I wish I had never given up playing the bass. It's so much easier than guitar.

Isn't it sad that I can't think of something that I gave up and miss?

When I was pregnant the first time, on a walk, Dave had to push me up a hill. I knew he would come in handy.
