The more I get into this pregancy the more I realize I know nothing. When do they start on cereal? When to they start walking? When do they start talking?
I was watching Nanny 911 last night (OK, nothing I'm proud of), and as pathetic as those parents were with their kids, I kept thinking "I know nothing about raising kids. What if I'm as pathetic as these people and don't have a clue like they don't?" I mean, this woman was screaming at her kids and she didn't even realize she was doing damage to the poor little things!
Would one of you PLEASE tell me if I'm that pathetic at child rearing?

NEVER ever ever ever EVER say, my child will NEVER do that or I will NEVER let my child do or say that...cuz...you will and then you have to eat all those words and it's not fun.

I always said my children would never be baby sat by the television and they both can recite The Wizard of Oz with their eyes closed and know the theme song to Pee Wee's Playhouse by heart.

First, Relax. Take one step at a time. Luckily, you don't have to make all those decsions right now. I found that most often, the answers to the hardest parenting questions reveal themselves. Good Luck.
Yea, Bryan has already warned me about making those statements.
One of my good friends now has two kids. I laugh because she and I would sit there making judgments about people before we had kids, and I see her doing some of the stuff that we would scoff at. I guess the entire time we were judging people we knew we'd be doing that very same thing someday.
Anyway, that's great advice. I'll just say those things to myself, then if I renig on every one of them I don't have to eat crow.
